Product Information

Congratulations on your new piece of jewelry. Before you start wearing it, we recommend that you read through this product information.

Normal wear and tear

All jewelry, as well as various surface finishes (matte, glossy, hammered, etc.), will show signs of wear with normal use and thus change in appearance.

The same applies to all surface finishes (gold plating, rhodium plating, oxidation, etc.), which will also wear off over time due to normal wear and tear. The extent of this wear depends on how often the jewelry is worn.

Silver jewelry will tarnish over time—even if it has been gold-plated or rhodium-plated. We recommend usingHagerty Silver Cleanto care for your silver jewelry.

  • NOTE: Jewelry from Mads Heindorf may contain organic materials that are NOT compatible with Hagerty Silver Clean. These materials include wood, lava, amber, pearls, leather, and opals. Therefore, use a cotton swab to clean any silver that is combined with one of the materials listed above. If you have any questions about using Hagerty Silver Clean, please feel free to contact us.

The jewelry should be worn as intended by its design. Delicate, hollow, and surface-coated items should only be worn gently and occasionally. Products made of delicate materials such as enamel, leather, Swarovski crystals, magnets, and the like should also be used with care. Sturdier and more substantial jewelry is better suited for daily use.

Normal wear and tear does not constitute a defect or flaw in the product that would justify a claim.

Shelf life

To ensure you enjoy your jewelry for as long as possible, we recommend:

  • Make sure to remove your jewelry before going to sleep, taking a bath, exercising, going to the beach, doing yard work, or engaging in other similar activities.

  • Please avoid exposing your jewelry to various chemical products such as hairspray, perfume, body lotion, sunscreen, etc., as these can affect the jewelry by causing discoloration, staining the skin, and similar issues. Any such changes are completely harmless and can usually be removed by washing with mild soap.

  • We recommend that you have your jewelry inspected and serviced regularly. Glue joints, knots, and similar elements will eventually come apart over time and are only covered under warranty for the first 6 months, provided the jewelry has not been exposed to any of the factors listed above.

  • Damage caused by ordinary accidents, such as drops, bumps, or impacts—for example, getting caught on something—is not covered under the warranty.

The above items do not constitute defects or deficiencies in the product that would justify a complaint.

Jewelry Storage

We recommend that you store your jewelry in the accompanying leather pouch or box. Chains should be closed and laid flat to prevent tangling and knots.
